Email is easier and faster! Getting through on the phone can be difficult, and the person you really need to speak to is probably with another patient. Emails are received and screened promptly, then passed on to the right member of our staff, who will respond as soon as they are able. Plus, email provides documentation so necessary nowadays. Also, please be careful typing in your email address- we have a surprising number of returned emails due to simple errors! Attachments: We get a number of emails that have scanned documents to support the questions being asked. Please reduce their size after you scan them to no more than about 100kb per page. That is sufficient to read them clearly on screen or print them out. When you send a 500kb attachment, it uses the space of 250 other emails on our internet provider's server, and takes much longer to download.
Address books: A couple of issues- We are getting a lot of forwarded email where people send them to everyone on their address book. Another problem is infected computers that use the address book to send out spam. We're getting a lot of that now too. If it gets much more out of hand, our solution will be to just change the email addresses occasionally. That will make your address book entry obsolete and you won't know why the email bounced back. Therefore, please initiate a dialog through the web site, not through your address book entry, and use the reply function to our responses. We'll really appreciate that, since we have to read all our emails to make sure we don't miss something important to our patients, and the junk mail wastes a lot of time, as you already know- suffering it yourselves. Hint: Most email programs have a setting to "Automatically add people you reply to" to your address book. It's usually on by default. Turn it off- it will help you with spam as well. For new prescriptions, refills or outpatient scheduling, please leave a detailed message with the following information, patient name, date of birth, pharmacy number and a call back number. If you have a question for the nurse or physician, we will return your call as soon as possible giving priority to emergencies and those patients being seen in the office. At the time of your call, please let us know of times you will be unavailable and we will avoid calling you then.

Medical Records-If you are requesting medical records, we require a $40.00 prepayment on all records except on consults. In addition we must have a signed release from the patient. Please leave detailed information in regards to the record request including Patient name, date of birth, facility requesting information and any contact numbers.
